I see that Deployment is the current product. What's the big difference between the two?

We had an admin here that tried to get BDD working late last year but got stuck with deployment failing when updates where added. The project got put on back burner til now and handed off to me. Should I scratch BDD and move onto Microsoft Deployment? Thanks. - chris

MDT has fixes for things that were broken or sort of did not work well in BDD 2007. You would be better off going with MDT to get the benefit of lessons learned from BDD 2007.

Belltowner,

MDT 2008 replaces BDD 2007. Yes, you should scratch BDD and move on to MDT. MDT has many improvements and fixes since BDD, and it should provide a more stable experience than BDD. If you run in to issues with deployment failing when adding updates, post them to the MDT 2008 forum.

Best, Jerry
