Hi All,

I am looking to create a simple package and program for Cisco VPN Client. The problem is that as part of the

install, the application disconnects the network interface for a moment and installs it's own virtual adapter. Anyway I can pre cache the files to the machine locally and refer to it in MDT?

Thanks,

-Johnny

I used a batch file to copy the files to the machine, then it ran the install, copied in the profiles, then deleted itself. works pretty well.

I had similar problems.

I wanted it to be deployed as an SMS package in the state restore phase. It now works fine. If you go to www.appdeploy.com and look for Cisco VPN Client in the Package KB it will tell you how to remove the checks for local install. You will need an MSI editor like ORCA if you have not got something like Wise.

Also, if anyone out there is using the Vista Single Sign On GPO settings, for starting the wireless network before logon should take note that the VPN client stops this from working once its installed. Thankfully Vista SP1 seems to fix this issue.

Cheers

Way more simple:
For Sms / Sccm, using the 'download and execute' functionality of package advertisement will do the trick
as it will be installed from the local cache.

hope it helps
