ok this has been driving me crasy. Ideploy alot of PC's and with it we deplay IE7 so we wanna upgrade to IE8. So what I did is downloaded IE8 in our language then did a run exe /? to see the switches and then made a new application in LTI.

everything works but at the end of the install I get a error message from a vbscript and this only happens when i deploy and chose IE8 from the list.

I have added a iamge to thos post with the error. has anyone a solution to this. I know wsus and all that but this should work no mater what

Use the following command to install IE8.  The important thing here is the no restart

IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe /quiet /update-no /norestart

Maybe a stupid question but did you try to add a restart action to your task sequence after installing IE8? If you do so please excuse my question!
