I created a LTI of Windows Server 2008 Core with Hyper-V,MPIO, and Failover Role...and currently use a Windows Update task sequence to install the Hyper-V RTM update.

However, there is a new Hyper-V failover enhancement hotfix (not on WU) that I need integrate.

I am running MDT 2008 on a 64 bit version of Windows 2008 Enterprise trying to integrate x64 bit MSU packages.  UAC is turned on if that matters.

When importing, a didalog box appears to read the files (and process monitor shows it's viewing the files)...but it never imports...just a blank list.  It's never worked, but I didn't care because the blades just used Windows update...no I need to slipstream in this fix.

Any ideas why the MSU packages will not import?

Probably because it is an update for an update that you haven't added yet. Add the Hyper-V RTM and then add the update for it. Your other option is to install the update as an application in the task sequence.
