| | Recently we finally moved our MDT server from the test/VM that it was running on to a dedicated server. I hadn't updated MDT 2008 to the update 1 yet, so I installed MDT on the new server, copied over the deployment share to the new computer and upgraded the database. Everything seemed to work fine with that, but I have a few major bugs that don't make sense. For instance, I have a build of a Fujitsu tablet. I have each of the special Fujitsu apps as seperate apps in the applications folder. I added each app into a folder in the task sequence for the Fujitsu. When the deployment happens, only like 3 of the 12 apps install. The rest appear to, but they just don't. I booted up the old MDT server, and it works great still. I've gone through everything I can think of, but all of the commands look the same, the XML files look good. The logs are great apart from the short time the app runs. Any ideas? Things to try? I have a lot of stuff loaded, and I really don't want to start from scratch again...
Change directory: \\MDTServer\MDT$\Applications\Fujitsu - Fingerprint Utility]LOG]!> Run Command: \\MDTServer\MDT$\Tools\X86\bddrun.exe setup.exe /s]LOG]!> | | | |

| | Wow, it cut my log off. Regardless, I found that if I remove the app and add it back, then it works fine. What the heck? Unless anyone has any thoughts, looks like I'm going back to square 1. | | | |

| | Hi! I have the same problems after install MDT 2008 Update 1. First of all my Distribution Shares disappeared. And now not all of my apps getting installed. Did you remove the app out of the Application container or only remove from Task Sequence? | | | |

| | I removed from the application container. This will change is the GUID in MDT, so you will have to replace it in any task sequence or in the database if you have it entered there. | | | |

| | Thanks. I hate updates. Now I start from the begining. A few days before we start to deploy with ZTI instead of RIS. | | | |

| | I'm going through and using this as my chance to redo a lot of the process. For instance, I consolidated all of my wim files into one master wim. I'm saving gigs and gigs of storage space now. I'm going to do more from the database, less from the task sequence, and I'll make a few new images to replace outdated ones. | | | |

| | Hi! I replaced some not installed apps in the application container. After setting up two master images now it´s the same with the task sequencer. Some apps not getting installed. I don´t know what´s wrong, do you? In the log files is nothing to find about these apps. Can you help? | | | |

| | I recently did a similar thing, I upgraded my server to Server 2008 and started a WDS/MDT installation on it. Got all the pieces working and then tried to update the deployment point to generate my boot images, lo and behold the update failed, error with bcdedit. Turns out my MDT installer was the old version and it does not work on Server 2008. After upgrading, none of my operating systems were there or deployment points. When starting the tasks to add a distribution share, it showed that the share name I wanted was already in use. So I closed MDT workbench, stopped sharing my already existing distribution share, and restarted the MDT workbench. Once I went in and did the upgrade of existing distribution shares, it saw all my Operating Systems, Apps, Drivers, etc. I did need to recreate my deployment points though as they did not show back up in the workbench. | | | |
