Michael N posted this the other day on his website

http://blogs.technet.com/mniehaus/archive/2008/05/14/need-new-sysprep-for-windows-xp-sp3.aspx

I just built XP task sequence using XP SP2 vol licensed media and then adding XP sp3 as an update. Waiting for Microsoft to post the integrated media on the volume license website (eta June) I tried to integrate sp3 to the vol licensed media and that did not work. So my questions are - can I get that to work (integrate) and two can I just copy the sysprep deploy cab files to the XP sp2 directory and then re-build, what should I put where(?). I'm guessing that my current wim captured using the old sysprep is no good???? I tried to send Micahel something this morning but his mailbox is full.Any advisse on how I should procedd? Even if ican do this build with what I have now I'll try to re-build once I can get the integrated sp3 media from the MVLS.

 :)

I integrated the SP3 to our VL media and it works fine. Why did it not work to integrate the SP3? What error? When you download the Windows XP Service Pack 3 - ISO-9660 CD Image File the new DEPLOY.cab is delivered with it.

Ok, so I did it on a Vista pc, re-did it on XP and everything went fine.Didn't know about the problem with slipstreaming it on a Vista pc. Live and learn, thanks.

Andrea,

Have you tried integrating it into your SP2 build using nlite? (http://www.nliteos.com)
I always use this for practically everything (integrating drivers, patches, servicepacks etc..)

Have fun...!
