Deploying Windows Vista Business to new computer model: HP DC 7800, the deployment fails from winpe.

error:A connection to the deployment share (\\servername\sharename) could not be made. The deployment will not proceed.

from winpe command prompt window, tried to pinf deployment server and got the following error:

PING: transmit failed, error code 1231

injected all drivers I can download from HP 7800 network drivers page and ran update files of the build.

You should be able to ping your deployment server from WinPE can you map a drive a to the deployment share manually using admin credentials.  This does not look like an issue with deployment but an issue with firewall / credentials / permissions.

Can you do an "ipconfig /all" and see what IP is coming back?
I think it's worth looking into it being a driver issue

 

Also perhaps try a release/renew and then trying another ping
