I believe it is documented in the WAIK.chm that you should be able to leave the value of A1 blank to indicate Any Host.  What I have found is the value in the xml file is A1 and regardless of how I configure it, I cannot get it to take a blank value.  Even if I leave it out, a registry value of 1 gets created with a value of localhost.

To get around this, I have to run a registry script to delete the registry value "1" to get it to work.  Is this another bug?

Ralph,

Can you give us a bit more context for this question? What are you trying to do?

Best, Jerry

I am trying to configure SNMP with some basic settings.  I have 2 of the 3 without problems.  The third item is that we need to accept SNMP packets from any host.

If I leave, Permitted Managers/A1 blank, an entry still gets created with a value of 1 and data value of localhost.

From what I can tell this is in the registry and I need to ensure that no values appear in Permitted Managers.

My workaround is to delete that value after installation.

I forgot to add that this is in the Microsoft-Windows-SNMP-Agent-Service component.
