Hi,

We received a new series of XPS laptop lately and one of them has been giving us a hard time to actually get our image install.

The XPS M1530 come with a Marvel Yukon 88E8040 Fast Ethernet Controler and pre-install with Vista, we added the x86 drivers for the controller in out-of-the-box-drivers like we always do then put the Net controller and hdc drivers in the WinPE driver group and then generate our LTI winPE image, we have been doing this for over 1 year on many models and never had any issue when booting with our cd, but for some reason we can't get that driver to load when we boot, when we get to the "enter your credentials windows" we cancel and get this error

A connection to the deployment share \\xxx\distribution$ could not be made.
The Deployment will not proceed
The following Networking device did not have a driver installed
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4354&SUBSYS_022E1028&Rev_12

First we though that we might had the wrong drivers so after some research we found 2 more x86 compatible but none of them seems to work, the drivers we have are yk51x8 10.22.6.3, yk51x8 10.27.4.3, yk51x8 10.64.10.3.

Some info about our environment :

MDT 2008 latest update
Built-in PE (boot image is x86)

This is becomming very critical since this model will be more and more ordered,

Thanks for your help

Hello,

Here is a small update, this afternoon we created a Offline media that contain our core image and only the Nic and Hdc drivers and booted the XPS M1530, since the offline dosen't need network drivers i though this could be a way to get the image working.

We booted from the USB stick and again there was no drivers install (Ipconfig returned that no drivers were Installed, Windows IP Configuration,  the image deployed successfully and at my big suprise once i was in the OS itself i noticed that the Network drivers were install and the version was 10.64.10.3 so therefore i knew i had the good drivers on my Boot cd,  still i don't understand why in PE they don't seem to be detected?

Thanks
