After learning MDT 2008 for 2 weeks I was getting Vista images that would not
boot after installing the 50+ updates from WindowsUpdate. Error was "improper shutown" and my only choice was safe mode.

 

I decided to delete everything (within MDT) and start over.

The distribution share must have gotten corrupted, so I uninstalled MDT and re-installed.

Now, after setting up new versions of Distribution Share, OS, Task Sequence and Deployment Point, I get this error when building my deployment point (upgrade):

 

An unexpected error occurred while updating the deployment point:

Could not find C:\Media\Content\Deploy\Control\TaskSequences.xml

There is much documentation about the way MDT is supposed to work, is there a resource for getting it to work the way it is supposed to? (here?)

Has anyone abandoned MDT for the older / manual method of creating these images?
