Hi there,

I'm new on the forum and new to the deployment toolkit.

I think I've set everything up correctly ie loaded MDT 2008, installed windows AIK, created a distribution share directory, added os and driver details, entered a computer name into the database and put in the mac address. Under details put in the computername too.

Now during deployment the configure the computername screen should have the name automatically entered. I've seen it work before on an old version of BDD and I don't know what I need to do to allow the name to appear automatically on this new version.

Sorry I'm not very technically minded so any basic advice would be much appreciated

Do you know if your customsettings.ini file has references to your database?

Make sure your boot image has been updated. If you are using WDS, you need to update the deployment point, then replace the WDS boot image with the newer one.
