I've only just started using MDT but all is not going well.  Here goes...

Installed MDT 2008 and downloaded all latest software to go with through console, e.g. WAIK 1.1 etc. 

Downloaded volume copy of Vista SP1.

Created share for Office 2007 and SP1.

Watched Richard Smith's excellent video where he helpfully shows installation of Vista and Office

Now it all goes wrong.  When I try to install this on Dell Optiplex GX520 it fails to install Office 2007, each time it runs through the install but fails and then rolls back the install showing error 1935.  Vista appears to install perfectly and if I install Office after the MDT install it will work.  THe combined install fails whether I use the xml file, use setup.exe and point to a .msp of just do a straight  setup.exe istall with no switchs/parameters etc.

I am using WDS to deploy the image.

I currently have an open case with Microsoft Office technical support and he is banging his head (as am I) on the desk.  This is due to be moved to the deployment tech support team at MS.

What am I doing wrong???

I have seen this kb article and there is another one that refers to the same error code that relates to missing drive/folder. I thought it unlikely to be .net as this article suggests reinstalling .net 2.0 and given that Vista ships with3.0 it seemed unlikely. I even tried appling .net 3.5 but still no good.

MS tech support also said that error 1935 was a generic code and could point to anything. I'm still waiting for this to be esculated to the deployment team so hopefully I will get some answers there if someone on here can't suggest something beforehand.

Oh and the SP files, yes I put them in the updates folder.  The weird thing is this has worked once and everything installed perfectly but it was once in around twenty attempts but this is how I kown that the SP files worked as the one installation that did work has Office SP1 installed.
